Your Online Security is our TOP Priority!
Multi-Factor User Authentication
For your protection we have obtained a Multi-User Authentication technology incorporated into our Online Banking. Please read this information carefully to become familiar with this technology.
(click this button to read about the Multi-Factor User Authentication)
Your role in protecting your personal information
- Do not share your ID or password with anyone.
- Change your password regularly.
- Remember to log off the Online Banking site.
- Only provide your Access ID and password when your browser indicates an encrypted connection. An encrypted connection is normally indicated by an "https://" in your browser's address bar in front of the address of the page you are visiting and look for a small lock
or key near the bottom right of your browser window when accessing your account.
Computer virus protection Anti-virus protection. If your computer becomes infected with a virus, you could possibly lose information and incur repair expense. Make sure your computer has an anti-virus protection program installed to reduce the risk of your computer becoming infected.
Attachments. We advise not to open attachments or diskettes unless you are certain that you can trust the source. Learn how to manually screen diskettes and attachments if your anti-virus software does not automatically screen for viruses.
Firewalls A firewall is a system that blocks unauthorized access by individuals and networks. Placing a personal firewall on your computer can prevent unauthorized access to your computer and information that could be used to perpetrate identity fraud. Do not keep sensitive information on any of your hard drives. Keep financial data on a removable diskette and place in a secure location.
Your use of a firewall depends on the sensitivity of information you keep on your hard drive and how you connect to the Internet. You can connect to the Internet with:
-
Dial-up modem. If you are using a dial-up modem, your risk to automated snooping programs (programs designed to steal information) is limited to the duration of your Internet connection.
-
DSL or cable modem. If you use a digital subscriber line (DSL) or cable modem, your Internet connection is on when your computer is on. If you leave your computer on for long periods of time, the window of opportunity for malicious activity against your computer increases.
Linking to other sites. We may provide links to external web sites, such as credit bureaus or merchants. If you choose to link to Web sites not controlled by Ukrainian Selfreliance MI FCU, we are not responsible for the privacy or security of these sites, including the accuracy, completeness, reliability or suitability of their information. If you are asked to provide information on one of these Web sites, we strongly urge you to carefully study their Privacy Policies before sharing your information.
Shopping online When shopping online, look for the padlock or key icon usually located in the lower right corner of your screen. A closed, or locked, padlock indicates the site uses encryption technology for placing orders. If the padlock is open, then the site does not provide encryption. Never enter your credit/debit card number into a site that is not secure.
Passwords and PINs (Personal Identification Numbers) Passwords or PINs should be used when accessing an online account to protect your personal information. Sharing your password or PIN with another is the same as giving that individual authority to use your name or account in a transaction. Make your password unique to you and change it regularly. Do not use simple words or birth dates that are easy for others to guess.
E-mail In General Never email personal account information or any other sensitive personal data such as passwords, PINs, our Social Security Number, etc.. Information send via E-Mail is generally not secure and always at risk of loss of confidentiality unless you can validate secured transmission. For your protection it is recommended that you contact Ukrainian Selfreliance MI FCU directly at the phone number listed below.
When Ukrainian Selfreliance MI FCU receives email from it's members every attempt possible is made to process and respond in a timely manner. For record keeping purposes, as well as to prove that Ukrainian Selfreliance MI FCU makes every attempt to process email in the same manner as if it had been received via postal mail or in person, a hard paper copy of all emails are retained, along with information with regard to how all transactions were handled.
E-mail scams E-mail can be used for sending scams such as a false offer from a company or an alert to a false computer virus. These e-mails are often forwarded with good intention by friends, adding an erroneous level of legitimacy. If you receive an e-mail that you think could be a scam, do not forward and delete it immediately. If you receive an e-mail warning that a new computer virus is circulating, check the Web site of any one of the well-known anti-virus software companies for validation.
If you receive an email from someone representing themselves as the Ukrainian Selfreliance MI FCU requesting personal information, please forward that email in it's entirety to us so that we can take appropriate measures to determine who sent it. NOTE: Ukrainian Selfreliance MI FCU will NEVER initiate contact and ask you to supply personal information in an email.
